Elfsight alternatives: 5 Elfsight competitors for review widgets, compared on views and price

Elfsight charges by widget views, and its own pricing page says that going over the monthly limit will temporarily deactivate your app. That is the reason most people shop for an Elfsight alternative. Trustindex removes the cap for $65 a year, EmbedSocial adds social feeds from EUR 29 a month, Senja handles video testimonials from $29, and ReviewJet sends the review requests and displays the results from $49 a month with no view metering at all.

The view counter is the whole story

Why do people look for an Elfsight alternative?

Elfsight is good software at a low price. People leave it for two specific reasons, and knowing which one is yours decides the replacement.

The first reason is the meter. Every Elfsight plan is sold by monthly views, and a view is counted each time the widget loads on a page or through a share link. Features barely change between tiers. What changes is how many loads you get before the widget stops. Elfsight is explicit about what happens at the limit: its pricing page says exceeding the monthly limit will temporarily deactivate your app.

That catches people in a predictable way. A reviews widget is usually placed site wide, in a footer or a sidebar, because trust signals help on every page. Placed that way it loads on every pageview, not only on the page you had in mind. A site with 2,000 visitors a month who each see three pages burns 6,000 views, which is already past the 5,000 on Basic. A good month from an ad campaign or a local news mention is exactly when the widget is most likely to disappear.

The second reason is scope. Elfsight displays reviews that already exist. It pulls from more than 60 sources, including Google, Facebook, Yelp, Tripadvisor, G2 and Capterra, and refreshes on a schedule, with new reviews typically appearing within about 72 hours. It does not ask your customers for reviews. If your problem is that you have 14 Google reviews and a competitor down the road has 300, a better display widget does not fix it. You need the request going out after every sale or finished job.

So ask yourself which problem you have. If the widget works and you just resent the meter, you want a flat-priced display tool, and Trustindex is the obvious answer. If you want more reviews and the widget is secondary, you want a tool that collects, and the display comes with it.

Honest comparison

Elfsight competitors compared on price, view caps and collection

Five tools a US business realistically puts next to Elfsight. Two columns matter more than the price: whether the widget can switch off because of traffic, and whether the tool gets you new reviews or only shows old ones.

What a reviews widget costs a year at your traffic

Views are widget loads, not visitors. Multiply monthly visitors by pages per visit if the widget sits in your footer, then find your row. Prices are annual billing on a single Elfsight app.

Annual cost of Elfsight, Trustindex and ReviewJet at different monthly widget loads
Widget loads a month Elfsight tier Elfsight per year Trustindex per year ReviewJet Starter per year
3,000Basic$60$65$288
20,000Pro$120$65$288

250,000Enterprise T1$360$65$288
800,000Enterprise T3$720$65$288

Read the table honestly

On price, Trustindex wins at every traffic level above Elfsight Basic, and Elfsight wins at the very bottom. We cost more than both. The $288 a year pays for the request workflow: up to 1,000 requests a month in timed sequences with follow ups, every customer asked the same way, and a review page on your own domain.

Where the arithmetic flips

If you already pay for a separate review request tool plus Elfsight, add the two together. One tool at $49 a month that asks, collects and displays usually replaces both, and it has no counter that can take the widget down during your busiest week.

What each one is actually good at

The five Elfsight alternatives in detail

Different tools solve different halves of the problem. Match the tool to the half you have.

1. Trustindex, if the meter is your only complaint

Trustindex publishes three annual plans: Single at $65 a year for one company, Pro at $125 for five companies and Ultimate at $349 for unlimited companies. Every paid plan lists unlimited websites, widgets, views and reviews from 133 review platforms, with automatic review updates. Automatic AI replies are an add-on at $29 per source per year. It also collects: review email campaigns, QR codes and NFC tap cards.

On price alone it is the strongest option on this page, and the cheapest way to get rid of the view cap. One thing to check before you switch on collection: Trustindex advertises a negative reviews filter, and Google's review policy prohibits selectively soliciting positive reviews, so configure it to ask everyone. Pro and Ultimate also suit agencies placing widgets for several clients. We compared the two head to head in Elfsight vs Trustindex.

2. EmbedSocial, if you want social feeds too

EmbedSocial prices in euros: Pro at EUR 29 a month for 3 sources and 5,000 views, Pro Plus at EUR 49 for 6 sources and 20,000 views, and Premium at EUR 99 for 15 sources and 100,000 views, with 20% off on yearly billing. Every paid plan includes unlimited widgets. It is the natural move for a brand already embedding Instagram or TikTok feeds that wants reviews from the same dashboard.

Note that EmbedSocial is metered by views as well, so it solves Elfsight's scope limits rather than the counter. A US buyer also pays in euros, so the dollar price moves with the exchange rate.

3. Common Ninja, for one cheap widget

Common Ninja lists a single widget at $24 a year on Essentials, $38.40 on Pro and $62.40 on Ultimate, billed annually, with the price scaling as you add widgets. It covers Google, Facebook and G2 review widgets alongside a long catalogue of other widget types, which makes it the closest match to Elfsight's shape.

If your site needs one reviews block and nothing else, it is hard to spend less. Like Elfsight, it is a display tool: it will not send a single review request on your behalf.

4. Senja, if you sell software or courses

Senja is a testimonial platform rather than a review widget. Starter is $29 a month with unlimited testimonials, 3 forms and 2 seats, and Pro is $59 with unlimited forms and 5 seats. It collects text and video testimonials through forms and bulk invites with follow ups, imports from 18 platforms and publishes them as widgets and a Wall of Love.

That is the right tool when the proof you need is a customer talking on camera. It is the wrong tool when the proof that matters is your Google star rating in the map pack. We cover the plans in more depth in Senja pricing and alternatives.

5. ReviewJet, if you need more reviews, not only a nicer widget

We start one step earlier than Elfsight. After a purchase or a finished job, ReviewJet emails the customer a request, follows up if they do not answer, and sends them to the review site that matters to you: Google, G2, Trustpilot or a direct review page on your own domain. What comes back lands in one inbox and goes out in Google reviews widgets, carousels, badges and walls on your site, with review schema for search.

Widgets are not metered by views, so a traffic spike never switches them off. Starter is $49 a month or $288 a year for up to 1,000 requests a month and unlimited widgets. Plus is $149 with 5 seats and 5 workspaces for agencies. The trade is honest: we support four sources, not sixty, so if you need Yelp, Tripadvisor or Amazon reviews on the page, keep Elfsight or Trustindex for that.

Switching takes an afternoon

How to replace an Elfsight reviews widget

Your reviews live on Google, G2 and Trustpilot, not inside Elfsight, so nothing needs exporting.

01

Connect your profiles

Link the same Google Business Profile, G2 or Trustpilot page the Elfsight widget reads from. Existing reviews load straight away.

02

Rebuild the layout

Pick the carousel, grid, badge or wall that matches your current block, and set the minimum star filter you used before.

03

Swap the script

Paste the new embed where the Elfsight code sits, then delete the Elfsight script so two widgets do not load on every page.

04

Turn on requests

Import recent customers and start the request sequence. New reviews appear in the widget as they arrive.

What buyers ask before they switch

Elfsight alternative questions

It depends on what you want the widget to do. For display only on a busy site, Trustindex sells flat annual plans from $65 a year with unlimited views. For social feeds plus reviews, EmbedSocial runs from EUR 29 a month. For testimonials with video, Senja starts at $29 a month. If you also want the widget fed by review requests you send, ReviewJet covers collection and display from $49 a month.
Mostly because of the view cap. Elfsight prices every plan by monthly widget views, and its pricing page states that exceeding the monthly limit will temporarily deactivate your app. A reviews widget in a site footer loads on every page, so traffic you did not plan for can switch the widget off. The second reason is scope: Elfsight displays reviews but does not ask customers for them.
Elfsight's pricing page says that exceeding the monthly view limit will temporarily deactivate your app. A view is counted every time the widget loads on a page or through a share link, so the counter follows your traffic rather than your usage of the editor. The fix is upgrading to the next band: 5,000, 50,000, 150,000, 300,000, 600,000, 1,200,000 or unlimited views.
A single Elfsight app costs $5, $10 or $20 a month billed yearly for Basic, Pro and Premium, or $6, $12 and $24 billed monthly. Enterprise tiers run $30 to $80 a month billed yearly. The 96 apps pack costs three times the single app rate, from $15 a month. Free covers 200 views and one widget, with Elfsight branding.
Yes. Trustindex lists unlimited widgets, unlimited views and unlimited reviews on all three paid plans at $65, $125 and $349 a year. ReviewJet plans are not metered by views either, and are priced by review requests and workspaces instead. Elfsight itself removes the view cap only on its top Enterprise T4 tier, at $80 a month billed yearly.
Elfsight only adds a write-a-review button to the widget, which reaches visitors already on your site. Trustindex includes email campaigns, QR codes and NFC tap cards. ReviewJet sends automated email request sequences with follow ups after each sale or job, then displays what comes back. Senja collects testimonials through forms and bulk invites.
On a low traffic site, yes: Elfsight Basic is $60 a year for 5,000 views, against $65 a year for Trustindex Single. Once the widget loads more than 5,000 times a month, Elfsight moves to $120 a year and then $240, while Trustindex stays at $65 because its paid plans carry no view cap. The crossover comes early on any site with real traffic.
You do not need to move the reviews themselves. Reviews on Google, Facebook, Yelp, G2 and Trustpilot belong to those platforms, so any widget that connects to the same profile pulls them again. What you rebuild is the layout and the filters. Remove the Elfsight script from your pages once the replacement is live so both widgets do not load.
