Podium alternatives and Podium competitors with published pricing

The right Podium alternative depends on which slice of Podium you use. If it is review invites and a website widget, ReviewJet ($49 a month flat) or NiceJob ($75) replaces it with a price you can read today. If it is phones and texting in a practice, Weave starts at $199 per location. If you want another full suite, Birdeye is the match, and like Podium it publishes no price.

Why do businesses switch from Podium?

Almost nobody leaves because texting customers stopped working. They leave because they cannot see the price, cannot try it without a sales call, and suspect they pay for a bundle while using one part of it.

Podium's pricing page reads "Plans designed to fit your specific business needs, talk to our sales team for details," and lists a sales phone line. No plan names with prices, no per location rate, no term. Comparison sites quote $399 to $599 a month, but none of them links a Podium page, so treat those as rumors until you have a quote in writing.

The bigger reason is unused scope. Podium sells webchat, a shared text inbox, payments, bulk messaging and an AI employee alongside review invites. A plumbing company that answers calls on its own phone system, or a dental office already running Weave, ends up paying for the bundle and opening the review screen. If that is you, the question becomes what replaces the part of Podium you use, and that usually costs a fraction of the whole. The full cost picture sits in our breakdown of what Podium actually costs.

Honest comparison

Podium competitors compared on price, billing unit and scope

Seven tools a local business realistically weighs against Podium. Where a vendor publishes no figure, the table says not published, because quote-only is a fact worth knowing before you take the call.

Podium alternatives compared on published price, billing unit, contract and the part of Podium each one replaces
Tool Published price Billing unit Trial and contract Replaces which part of Podium
Podium Not published Quote through sales Demo, no self-serve trial; term set in your agreement Texting, webchat, payments, reviews
ReviewJet $49/mo or $288/yr; Plus $149, Pro $499 Flat per account Monthly or yearly, no minimum spend Review requests plus reviews shown on your site
NiceJob Starter $75/mo, Pro $125/mo Per account 14 day trial, no contract Review invites, widgets, AI replies on Pro
Reviewflowz Pro $45, Premium $70 Per location per month, billed annually Trial offered, length not stated Monitoring, AI replies, request campaigns
GatherUp $99/mo for 1 location, $60 each for 2 to 10 Per location 14 day trial, 20% off annual Reviews, NPS, monitoring across 100+ sites
Weave From $199/mo; higher tiers not published Per location Not published Phones, texting and reviews for practices
Birdeye Not published Quote, banded by location count Described as one contract, term not stated Everything, as a different suite
Thryv Not published on its reviews page Bundle Limited free plan, paid upgrades unpriced Reviews inside a CRM and invoicing suite

NiceJob, Reviewflowz and GatherUp figures read on their own pricing pages. Reviewflowz also charges for invitations on Pro and Premium: $5 per 1,000 emails and $5 per 100 texts. Podium, Birdeye and Thryv publish no plan prices.

The billing unit decides the bill

What is a cheaper alternative to Podium for reviews?

Four review tools print a price, and they differ mostly in what they count. At one location the cheapest is per location pricing. By three locations, flat pricing has already caught up.

Monthly cost of the review slice at one, three, five and ten locations, from published prices
Locations Reviewflowz Pro GatherUp ReviewJet
1$45 + invites$99$49
3$135 + invites$180$49, or $149 with a workspace each
5$225 + invites$300$49, or $149 with a workspace each
10$450 + invites$600$49, or $499 for unlimited workspaces

Reviewflowz is the cheapest single site at $45 per location, but that rate is the annual one, and invitations are billed on top. GatherUp's $99 covers one location with 300 texts and 3,000 emails a month included, then $60 for each location from two to ten.

ReviewJet does not count locations at all. Starter at $49 includes up to 1,000 email and SMS requests a month in one workspace. If each location needs its own branding, reporting and team, Plus at $149 gives you five workspaces and five seats. Our GatherUp pricing breakdown runs the per location math further out.

What each one is good at

The best Podium alternatives in detail

Different bets on what you bought Podium for. The tool that suits a two-truck HVAC company is wrong for a four-chair dental practice, and the reverse.

Office manager at a home services company closing out a finished job on a laptop

The moment that matters

For most home services companies, the review slice is one action: the office closes the job, and the customer gets one request by text or email while the visit is fresh. Every tool on this page does that. They differ in price and in what else they bundle.

ReviewJet, the review slice at a flat price

Automated email and SMS requests fire on a trigger, with one follow-up for anyone who did not respond. Google, G2, Trustpilot and direct reviews land in one place and show in an embeddable widget with review schema. Starter $49, Plus $149 with five workspaces and white labeling, Pro $499 unlimited.

No webchat, payments or shared inbox. If your front desk lives in those, keep that tool and use us for reviews. The setup is on our Google review automation page.

NiceJob, the like-for-like swap for service businesses

Starter at $75 a month covers SMS and email review requests, website widgets, social sharing and a reviews microsite. Pro at $125 adds referral campaigns, NPS, competitor tracking and AI review replies. A 14 day trial, no contract, cancel anytime. A Sites add-on costs $99 a month plus $199 setup. Plan details are in our NiceJob pricing breakdown.

Reviewflowz, when nobody answers reviews

$45 per location on Pro and $70 on Premium, billed annually. AI replies post automatically or wait for approval, and campaigns run over email, SMS and WhatsApp. Pro allows three users; Premium adds unlimited users, sentiment analysis and API access. Go slow with automatic replies: every future customer reads the one under your worst review.

GatherUp, when you want NPS with reviews

$99 for one location and $60 per location from two to ten, with a 14 day trial and 20 percent off annual. Every plan includes monitoring across more than 100 sites, NPS surveys and API access. The white-label agency tier is quote only.

If the inbox was the reason you bought it

What is the best Podium alternative for texting and phones?

A review tool will not replace a shared text inbox. For dental, medical and veterinary practices, Weave is the established choice: it publishes a starting price of $199 a month per location and bundles phones, texting and reviews, though its higher tiers carry no public price. Our comparison of Weave, Podium and Birdeye pricing covers that market in detail.

Outside healthcare, plenty of owners split the job in two: a cloud business phone number with texting for customer conversations, and a dedicated review tool for invites and display. Two focused tools with printed prices often cost less than one bundle with a negotiated one, and you can cancel either without renegotiating the other.

If you want a different suite

Is Birdeye a good alternative to Podium?

Birdeye is the most direct replacement if you want another all-in-one: reviews, listings, messaging, surveys and social under one login. It does not solve price opacity. Birdeye's pricing page asks for your phone number and sorts you into a location band of 1 to 3, 4 to 9, 10 to 39 and up, then routes you to sales. We compared the two in Podium vs Birdeye, and the options for leaving Birdeye are on our Birdeye alternatives page.

Thryv comes at it from the CRM side. Its automated review requests live inside a small business suite that also does scheduling, invoicing and payments. Its reviews page says free plans have limited functionality and upgrades cost more, without a figure. It suits replacing several tools at once, not reviews alone.

Your reviews stay where they are

How do I switch from Podium without losing reviews?

Reviews live on Google and the other public sites, not inside Podium, so they survive the cancellation. What you lose is the tooling around them. Four steps, roughly two weeks end to end.

01

Read your agreement

Your contract, not a blog post, sets the term and the notice window. Missing a renewal date can cost another year, so find it first.

02

Export what is yours

Contacts, request templates and any message history you need. These are the only things that do not come back when you reconnect Google.

03

Run both for two weeks

Start the replacement, connect your Google profile, and send requests from the new tool while Podium is still live.

04

Swap the website widget

Replace any Podium review widget before cancelling, so the reviews section on your site does not go blank on the day the account closes.

Match the tool to the slice

The last row is meant seriously. If your receptionist works out of the Podium inbox all day, unbundling is a project, not a saving. The businesses that gain are the ones paying for a platform to do one narrow job, and they usually know which group they are in within a minute of opening the account.

What buyers ask before they switch

Podium alternative questions

The best alternative to Podium is the one that replaces the part of Podium you actually use. For review requests and a website widget, ReviewJet ($49 a month flat) and NiceJob ($75 a month) publish prices and need no sales call. For phones and texting in a practice, Weave starts at $199 a month. For another all-in-one suite, Birdeye is the closest match.
Podium's main competitors are Birdeye and Thryv on the all-in-one side, Weave for healthcare practices that need phones and texting, and review-focused tools such as NiceJob, GatherUp, Reviewflowz and ReviewJet for businesses that mainly used Podium to collect Google reviews.
Podium does not publish a price. Its pricing page says plans are designed to fit your business and asks you to talk to sales. Comparison sites circulate figures in the $399 to $599 a month range, but none of them cites a Podium page, so the only reliable number is the quote you get in writing for your own location count and term.
Four review tools publish prices below any Podium figure in circulation: Reviewflowz at $45 per location per month billed annually, ReviewJet at $49 a month flat, NiceJob at $75 a month and GatherUp at $99 for one location. Past two or three locations, a flat price beats per location pricing quickly.
Neither is better in general. Birdeye is broader on listings, surveys and social, while Podium is built around a shared text inbox, webchat and payments for the front desk. Both publish no price, so if you are leaving Podium because you could not see what you pay, Birdeye does not fix that.
Yes. Your reviews live on Google, Facebook and the other public sites, not inside Podium, so they stay where they are when you cancel. What you lose is the tooling: request templates, contact lists, message history and any review widget served by Podium code. Export the first three and replace the widget before the account closes.
Podium does not offer a self-serve trial on its pricing page; the route in is a demo with the sales team. NiceJob and GatherUp both publish 14 day trials, Reviewflowz offers a trial without stating the length, and ReviewJet lets you build a live review widget on this page before you create an account.
Podium is worth it when your front desk lives in its inbox all day: texting customers, answering webchat and taking payments. It is hard to justify when review invites are the only feature you open, because a review tool with a published double digit monthly price does that job.
