For businesses that run on Zoho

Zoho Google reviews requested from Zoho CRM and shown on Zoho Sites

Zoho can monitor and answer Google reviews, but it does not ask your customers for them. The setup that works is a Zoho CRM or Zoho Books workflow rule that calls a webhook when someone becomes a customer or pays an invoice. ReviewJet receives the email, sends one Google review request after the delay you choose, and gives you a widget that puts the reviews on your Zoho Sites pages.

What happens after the sale

One workflow rule in Zoho becomes one review request

Zoho knows who just bought. A webhook carries the email across. ReviewJet decides when to send, sends it, and keeps the record.

Where the gap is

What each Zoho app does with Google reviews

Zoho covers the reading side well. Zoho Social adds a reviews column to its Monitor tab once you connect a Google Business Profile, and Zoho Publish is built to monitor, filter and respond to reviews. What neither product page describes is the asking side, and that is the part that changes your rating.

The asking side needs two things Zoho already has in other apps: the moment a customer is won or an invoice is paid, and the customer's email. Zoho CRM and Zoho Books hold both, and both can call a webhook from a workflow rule. That webhook is the whole integration.

The showing side is a known gap too. The Zoho community thread on adding Google reviews to a Zoho Sites website runs to dozens of pages, and the working answer is still a third-party widget pasted into a Code Snippet element.

Zoho app What it does with reviews What ReviewJet adds
Zoho CRM Nothing native. Holds the customer, the email and the stage change. A review request for every contact who becomes a customer
Zoho Books and Zoho Invoice Nothing native. Knows when an invoice moves to Paid. A request a few days after payment, when the work is finished
Zoho Social Shows Google Business Profile reviews in the Monitor tab and lets you respond More reviews arriving in that column
Zoho Publish Monitors, filters and responds to reviews, with a Zoho Desk link for agents The request step its page does not mention
Zoho Sites No Google reviews element. Has a Code Snippet element for HTML, CSS and JavaScript. A widget script for that element, with Google, G2 and Trustpilot reviews

Three ways to wire it

Pick the route that matches your Zoho apps

All three send the same thing, a customer email to one private address. The first two need no connector at all.

Zoho CRM webhook

Professional, Enterprise, Ultimate

A workflow rule on the Contacts module with a webhook as its instant action. Zoho sends the fields you map as form-data or as raw JSON, up to 10 CRM fields per webhook, which is plenty for an email and a first name.

Zoho Books webhook

Businesses that invoice in Zoho

A workflow rule on the Invoice module, event based, on Edited, with the criterion Status is Paid. The webhook action posts the customer email, and you can secure it with a secret token of 12 to 50 characters.

Zapier

Editions without webhooks

Zoho CRM triggers in Zapier include New Contact, New or Updated Contact and the instant Updated Module Entry. Add a Filter step, then Webhooks by Zapier with a POST. Zapier Professional starts at $19.99 a month billed yearly.

Zoho CRM webhook call limits by edition as documented by Zoho
Zoho CRM edition Webhook calls a day Per user cap Enough for review requests?
Professional50,000100 per user a day, whichever is lowerYes. A 3 user team can send 300 a day.
Enterprise500,000500 per user a day, whichever is lowerYes
Ultimate1,000,0001,000 per user a day, whichever is lowerYes

Those are Zoho's documented limits. Zoho also allows up to 6 webhooks on one workflow rule, 1 instant and 5 time based, so you can leave your existing notifications in place and add the review webhook beside them. On an edition that Zoho does not list for webhooks, use Zapier, which works with any edition its Zoho CRM app can connect to.

Setup, about 15 minutes

How to send a Google review request from Zoho CRM

  1. 01

    Create the request

In ReviewJet, paste your Google review link, write the email in your own voice and copy the private trigger address for the workspace.

  2. 02

    Configure the webhook

In Zoho CRM go to Setup, Automation, Actions, Webhooks and click Configure Webhook. Module Contacts, method POST, and the trigger address in URL to Notify.

  3. 03

    Map the fields

Choose Form-Data and add email with the Email merge field and name with First Name. Add delay_days as a custom parameter with the number of days to wait.

  4. 04

    Associate the rule

Open Workflow Rules, create a rule for Contacts that runs when the contact becomes a customer, pick Webhook under actions, select yours and click Associate.

Why a Contacts rule, not a Deals rule

A deal is not a person and carries no email of its own. A rule on the Contacts module already has the Email and First Name fields, and it fires once per person. If your team marks the win on the deal, add a picklist such as Contact Status to the Contacts layout, set it when the deal is won, and let the contact rule do the asking.

What ReviewJet does with each call

  • Queues the request after delay_days, from 0 up to 365.
  • Sends between 9 am and 6 pm in the customer's timezone.
  • Sends one reminder if there is no response, then stops.
  • Ignores the same email for 30 days and answers duplicate.
  • Never emails a contact who unsubscribed from review requests.

Retries are safe

Zoho's documentation says that when a webhook fails, the system sends a second notification after 15 minutes and then stops for that trigger. Because of the 30 day guard, a retry or a second edit of the same record cannot produce a second email. Need wording for the email itself? Start from our review request email templates.

No CRM needed

Ask when a Zoho Books invoice is paid

For trades, consultants and firms that bill per job, a paid invoice is a better trigger than a closed deal. The work is done and the customer has just said yes with their wallet. In Zoho Books, open Settings, choose Workflow Actions under Automation, select Webhooks and click New Webhook. Pick the Invoice module, the POST method and your ReviewJet trigger address, then add the customer's email and name as parameters.

Then create a workflow rule on the Invoice module. Make it event based, set it to run when an invoice is Edited, and add the criterion Status is Paid. Attach the webhook as the action and save. From then on, each invoice that moves to Paid produces one request.

Zapier is not a shortcut here. Its Zoho Books triggers are New Customer, New Estimate, New Expense, New Sales Invoice and New Item, and none of them fires on payment. A new invoice is the wrong moment to ask, because the customer has not paid and may not have seen the finished work. The same idea on other ledgers is covered on QuickBooks Google reviews and Xero Google reviews.

The showing side

How to add Google reviews to a Zoho Sites website

Zoho Sites has no Google reviews element, so the reviews come in through the Code Snippet element, which Zoho says supports HTML, CSS and JavaScript. The steps from Zoho's own help guide take about two minutes.

  1. Copy your widget script from ReviewJet.
  2. In the Zoho Sites builder, click the Add icon at the top and choose Elements.
  3. Drag the Code Snippet element onto the page where the reviews should sit.
  4. Give the snippet a name, click OK, paste the script into the Code Snippet window and click OK again.
  5. Publish the site. Zoho does not preview third-party code in the builder, so the reviews appear on the published page.

To change the snippet later, go to Manage, then Code Snippets. The widget renders as normal page HTML with review schema, so it follows your fonts, and it updates on its own as new reviews arrive. Layout options are on the Google reviews widget page.

What it costs

Zoho review request options compared

Zoho subscription prices are left out, since you already pay them. What differs is what you add.

Option What you get Added cost Best for
ReviewJet with a Zoho webhook Requests, reminder, duplicate guard, review inbox, widget for Zoho Sites $49/mo flat, or $24/mo billed yearly Zoho CRM Professional and up, or any Zoho Books user
ReviewJet with Zapier Same as above, through a Zap $49/mo plus Zapier Professional from $19.99/mo billed yearly Editions without webhooks
A workflow email with your review link One email from a Zoho workflow alert Nothing added Testing whether customers will review at all
Zoho Social or Zoho Publish alone Monitoring and replies for the reviews you already receive Per Zoho's own plans Teams whose problem is answering, not volume

The workflow email is a fair place to start, and it is honest to say so. Where it falls short is everything after the send: no reminder, no guard against asking the same customer twice when a record is edited again, no send-time logic, no record of who was asked, and nothing to put on your site. If you already reply to reviews in Zoho Social, keep doing that. ReviewJet does not post replies for you; it fills the column you are replying to. Plus at $149 a month adds five seats and five workspaces for consultants who run Zoho for several clients, and the full plan list is on the pricing page.

Who runs this

Where a Zoho review trigger earns its keep

Bookkeeping and accounting firms

Trigger on the contact status changing to Customer and wait until after the first month-end close. A review written after clean books reads better than one written at signing.

Trades that invoice in Zoho Books

Electricians, plumbers and HVAC shops get paid per job. The Paid status is the cleanest signal there is, and a 2 day delay lets the customer live with the fix first.

IT services and consultants

Ask when the onboarding project closes, not at the contract. Use a Contacts picklist your project lead sets, so the request follows delivery.

B2B software sold through Zoho CRM

Point the request at your G2 page instead of Google, 21 days after the win. The next buyer reads G2 during the shortlist.

Real estate and insurance agencies

One request per closed client keeps a Google profile current through slow months, with no agent having to remember.

Zoho partners and consultants

Build the same rule in each client org and keep every client in its own workspace, with your branding on Plus and Pro.

Sales team on a different CRM? The same trigger is set up on HubSpot Google reviews. For what to automate and what to keep human, see Google review automation, and for contractors specifically, reputation management for contractors.

Stay on the right side of the rules

What your Zoho review workflow must not do

No filtering by score

Do not add a criterion that only passes contacts with a high survey score. Google calls that review gating and it violates its policy. Ask every customer at the same stage.

Read about review gating

No incentives

Google prohibits offering anything in exchange for a review. Keep discounts, gift cards and credits out of the request email, even for positive reviews only.

No fake or bought reviews

The FTC rule on consumer reviews, 16 CFR Part 465, in force since October 2024, allows civil penalties for fake reviews and for buying them. Ask real customers, once.

FAQ

Questions about Zoho and Google reviews

Not for asking. Zoho Social and Zoho Publish let you monitor and respond to Google Business Profile reviews, but neither product page describes sending review requests to customers. To ask automatically, a Zoho CRM or Zoho Books workflow rule calls a webhook to a review request tool such as ReviewJet.
Use the Code Snippet element. In the Zoho Sites builder click the Add icon, choose Elements, drag Code Snippet onto the page, name it, paste the ReviewJet widget script and click OK. Zoho does not preview third-party code, so publish the site to see the reviews.
Create a webhook under Setup, Automation, Actions, Webhooks with method POST and your ReviewJet trigger address as the URL to Notify. Add the parameter email mapped to the contact Email field, then associate the webhook with a workflow rule that runs when a contact becomes a customer.
Zoho documents webhook limits for Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate. Professional allows 50,000 calls a day or 100 calls per user a day, whichever is lower. Enterprise allows 500,000 or 500 per user, and Ultimate 1,000,000 or 1,000 per user. Other editions can connect through Zapier.
Yes. In Zoho Books create a workflow rule on the Invoice module, event based, on Edited, with the criterion Status is Paid, and attach a webhook action that posts the customer email to your ReviewJet trigger address. The request goes out after the delay you set.
No, if your Zoho CRM edition has webhooks or you invoice in Zoho Books. The workflow webhook posts straight to ReviewJet. Zapier is the fallback for editions without webhooks. Its Zoho CRM triggers include New Contact and Updated Module Entry, and Webhooks by Zapier needs a paid Zapier plan.
No. Zoho CRM retries a failed webhook once after 15 minutes, and a rule can fire again when a record is edited. ReviewJet ignores a second call for the same email within 30 days and answers with a duplicate status, so each customer is asked once.
No. Google allows you to ask customers for reviews. It prohibits offering incentives and selectively asking only happy customers, which is called review gating. Run the rule for every customer at the same stage, and do not filter the workflow by a satisfaction score.
