For plumbing companies
Plumber review management, Google reviews for plumbers and reputation management for plumbers
Plumber review management means texting every customer a direct Google review link within a few hours of the fix, sending one reminder, and putting the reviews on your service pages. ReviewJet does all three for plumbing companies at a flat $49 a month, whether you run two trucks or twenty. Google says star ratings and review count affect how you rank in Local Services Ads, so every job you do not ask about is a lead you hand to the next plumber.

Where plumbing reviews come from
The burst pipe at 11 pm is your best review of the month
Nobody is happier to see a plumber than a homeowner standing in an inch of water. That relief fades by morning. The companies with 500 reviews ask while it is still there.
-
9:40 pm
The call
Supply line under the kitchen sink lets go. The homeowner searches "emergency plumber near me" and calls the first Local Services ad with a strong rating.
-
10:25 pm
On site
Water off at the main, line replaced, cabinet dried out, floor checked. The customer watched every step.
-
11:50 pm
Job closed
The office app or the tech marks it done. ReviewJet queues a text with the direct Google review link and the technician's first name.
-
8:15 am
Review posted
Customer reads the text over coffee and writes three sentences about Mike showing up in forty minutes. One reminder goes out in three days only if they have not.

Why it pays
Google reviews for plumbers decide the call before the phone rings
Plumbing is one of the busiest Local Services Ads categories, and Google is plain about what moves you up the list.
"Star ratings and number of reviews affect how your business is ranked within Local Services Ads."
The same help page adds that customers are more likely to leave a review when the request comes from you directly. LSA reviews are your Google Business Profile reviews, so one routine feeds three places at once: the ads, the map pack for "plumber near me", and the organic listing. Google's local ranking guidance names prominence as a factor and says review count and score are part of it.
What that means in practice: a shop paying for LSA leads with 31 reviews is bidding against one with 412, while most homeowners call the other one. Asking after every job is the cheapest way to change that, and it compounds every month you keep doing it.
What you get
Plumber review software built around the closed job
Six things a plumbing office actually needs, and nothing you will pay for and never open.
A text after every job
Add the customer when the job closes, or paste the day's list at 5 pm, and each one gets a short text with the review link. Techs on a slab leak do not have to remember anything.
Straight to the stars
The link opens the Google review box for your Business Profile, not your Maps listing. Each extra tap between the text and the stars loses customers.
The technician's name in the ask
"If Mike did a good job" gets more replies than "rate your experience". Reviews that name the tech are also the ones homeowners trust most.
One reminder, then quiet
Anyone who has not reviewed in three days gets one reminder. Nobody gets five texts about a clogged toilet, which is how a 5 star job turns into a 3 star review.
Reviews on every service page
Show your Google reviews on the water heater, drain cleaning and repipe pages and next to the booking form, with review schema. A review written Monday is on the site Tuesday.
Plumbing and HVAC under one login
Running plumbing and heating under two brands or two profiles? Plus at $149 gives you five workspaces, each with its own review link, requests and widget.
Setup
How to get more Google reviews as a plumber in one afternoon
Four steps. After that, the only recurring work is reading what customers wrote and answering the few that need it.
01
Get your review link
Copy it from your Business Profile or build it from your Place ID. Service-area businesses with a hidden address get a link the same way. Run two profiles? Get one link each.
02
Write a 35 word ask
Name the job and the tech: "Thanks for having us out for the water heater, Tom. If Carlos did a good job, a quick Google review helps us a lot." No coupon, no raffle.
03
Time it to the job
Emergency and repair calls: same day, within hours. Water heaters, repipes and sewer lines: the next day, once the customer has used hot water or run the laundry.
04
Show reviews where bids are compared
Embed the widget on each service page. Homeowners getting three quotes for a sewer line replacement read your site as closely as your Maps listing.
No link yet? The Google review link generator builds it, and the Google review QR code page covers leave-behind cards and invoice stickers for customers who pay on the spot.
Reputation management for plumbers
The three bad reviews every plumber gets, and replies that work
Plumbing complaints are predictable. Price, a fix that did not hold, and a late arrival cover most one star reviews. Write the reply for the next homeowner, who reads it more closely than the complaint.
★★★★★
"$389 to unclog a toilet. Robbery."
Owner reply
Thanks for the feedback, Jen. The visit was after 10 pm on a Sunday, which carries our after-hours rate, and the line needed an auger to the main because the clog was past the toilet flange. We quote before starting and we should have walked you through it more clearly. Call me directly at the office and I will go through the invoice with you. Rick, owner
★★★★★
"Leak came back two days later."
Owner reply
Sorry about that, Mark. A repair that does not hold is on us, and it is covered at no charge. I saw you have already been booked for Thursday morning with Luis, who will replace the fitting rather than reseal it. Thanks for giving us the chance to fix it properly. Rick, owner
★★★★★
"Said 2 to 4, showed up at 5:30."
Owner reply
You are right, and we should have called when the job before yours ran long on a slab leak. That is not the standard we hold ourselves to. We now text an updated arrival time whenever a tech is running more than thirty minutes behind. Thank you for telling us. Rick, owner
Every reply above does the same three things: agrees with what is true, explains what is not without arguing, and gives a way to reach the owner. There is more on this in our guide to responding to Google reviews.
Stay out of trouble
Three review shortcuts that get plumbing profiles penalized
A discount for a review
"10% off your next drain cleaning if you leave us a review." Google prohibits incentives for reviews, and the FTC rule on consumer reviews (16 CFR Part 465, in force since October 2024) bans incentives tied to a positive or negative review, with civil penalties.
Only asking happy customers
A "how did we do?" screen that sends 5 star answers to Google and the rest to a private form is review gating. Google prohibits it, and some trade marketing vendors still ship it as a default. ReviewJet has no gating step to switch off.
Reviews from the family
A spouse, a tech or a supplier writing reviews to fill a thin profile breaks Google policy and the FTC rule on undisclosed insider reviews. Google removes them and can restrict the whole profile, which also hurts your LSA standing.
Our explainer on review gating covers why the tactic keeps getting sold anyway.
Honest comparison
Plumber review management software compared by price
Many plumbing companies already pay for a review tool inside their field service software. Check that first. Prices below are the ones each vendor publishes on its own pricing page; where a vendor publishes nothing, we say so.
| Option | Published price | Asks for reviews | Reviews on your website | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ReviewJet | $49/mo or $288/yr flat; Plus $149 with 5 workspaces | Text and email, one reminder | Yes, widget with review schema | Plumbers who want the ask plus reviews on their own site at one flat price |
| ServiceTitan Marketing Pro | Not published; add-on to a ServiceTitan plan | Yes, from the job record | Not its focus | Larger shops already running dispatch on ServiceTitan |
| Housecall Pro | Basic $59/mo yearly or $79 monthly; review tools on every plan | Yes, from the job | Not its focus | Shops already on Housecall Pro for scheduling and invoicing |
| Jobber | Reviews inside the Marketing Suite add-on, $99/mo, on top of a plan | Yes | Not its focus | Jobber users who also want its email marketing and referrals |
| NiceJob | Starter $75/mo, Pro $125/mo, no contract | Yes | Yes, social proof widgets | Home service shops that want referrals and AI replies on Pro |
| Podium | Not published; sales call required | Yes, with texting inbox | Webchat bundle | Shops that want texting, payments and webchat in one contract |
Where the others win
If ServiceTitan or Housecall Pro already runs your dispatch, their review requests fire from the job itself and can tie a review to a technician. ReviewJet does not connect to ServiceTitan, Jobber or Housecall Pro, so the office adds the customer instead. If you want AI-drafted replies or a referral program, NiceJob Pro covers both and we do not.
Where ReviewJet fits
Field service tools collect reviews and then leave them on Google. If you want them on every service page as well, a price that does not grow when you add a truck, and no gating step waiting to get you in trouble, $49 a month covers it. See the plans and what each includes.
Who it is for
Which plumbing companies get the most out of it
2 to 5 truck shops
The owner still answers the phone and nobody has time to chase reviews. This is where one text per job moves a profile from 40 reviews to 200 in a year.
Emergency and 24 hour services
Most calls are one-off, so the review is the only lasting thing the job leaves behind. Same-night requests get the highest reply rates you will see.
Drain and sewer specialists
Big-ticket sewer line replacements are compared across three bids. Reviews on the sewer page next to the quote form do more than a brochure.
Plumbing and HVAC companies
Two trades, sometimes two brands. Keep separate review links and widgets per workspace on Plus, from one login.
Run a broader home services company? The reputation management for contractors page covers HVAC, roofing and electrical, and Google review automation goes deeper on triggers and timing.
