NiceJob vs Birdeye pricing and fit for small service businesses

ReviewJet Team 7 min read

NiceJob is the better buy for a single-location service business that wants more Google reviews and referrals at a price it can read today: $75 a month on Starter, $125 on Pro, no contract. Birdeye is the better buy for a business with many locations that needs reviews, listings, messaging and reporting under one contract, and it publishes no price. If you have one to five locations and mostly need review requests, NiceJob wins on cost and speed. Past ten locations, Birdeye's scope starts to earn its quote.

The short answer

These two tools are rarely a close call once you count your locations. NiceJob is built for the owner-operator: automated review invites by text and email, a review widget, referral and rebooking campaigns on Pro, a 14 day trial and cancel anytime. Birdeye is built for the regional operator: a broad platform priced by location band, sold through a sales call, with listings, webchat, surveys and AI agents alongside reviews. The question to ask is not which is better, but how many locations and how many modules you will actually use.

NiceJob vs Birdeye pricing

NiceJob prints its prices. Starter is $75 a month and covers SMS and email review requests, website review widgets, social sharing, a team leaderboard and a reviews microsite. Pro is $125 a month and adds repeat-booking reminders, referral campaigns, email broadcasts, AI review replies, NPS surveys, competitor tracking and thank-you gifts (the gifts need a Jobber or QuickBooks connection). There is a 14 day trial, no contract, and you can switch plans at any time. The one optional extra is Sites, a website add-on at $99 a month plus a $199 setup fee.

Birdeye prints nothing. Its pricing page asks for your business email, company, mobile number and a location band, and the bands are 1 to 3, 4 to 9, 10 to 39, 40 to 249, 250 to 999, and 1,000 or more. Capterra lists its Starter, Growth and Dominate plans as custom quotes. The $299, $349 and $449 per location figures that comparison sites repeat are estimates, not Birdeye numbers. Our Birdeye pricing comparison goes through where those figures come from and why they disagree.

Is NiceJob cheaper than Birdeye?

For a single location, almost certainly. NiceJob Pro at $125 a month comes to $1,500 a year, and Starter to $900. Birdeye will not tell you its number before a call, but even the lowest third-party estimate in circulation, $299 per location a month, is more than double NiceJob Pro. The gap narrows as you add locations only if Birdeye's per location rate falls with volume, and you will not know whether it does until you have a quote for your exact band in writing.

Cheaper only matters against what you will use, though. If your office would genuinely run its listings, webchat and customer surveys through Birdeye, you are comparing NiceJob plus three other subscriptions against one Birdeye contract, and that arithmetic can go either way. Write down the tools you pay for today before you decide which side of it you are on.

Which is better for a home service business?

The job that earns the review: the request goes out while the crew is still packing up.

For a plumber, roofer, HVAC company or cleaner with one shop and a few trucks, NiceJob is the closer fit. The whole product is shaped around that moment: the job closes in a connected tool such as Jobber or QuickBooks, the customer gets a text, and a reminder follows if they do not respond. The Pro plan's referral and rebooking campaigns are the parts home service owners tend to value most after reviews, because repeat and referred customers are the cheapest jobs they get.

Birdeye fits the home service company that has grown into a regional operator, with ten or twenty branches, a call center and a marketing team that needs reporting by location. At that size, keeping listings accurate across every branch and answering webchat from one inbox is real work, and a single platform for it is worth the quote. We set out what the review side looks like for trades businesses on our reputation management for contractors page.

Does Birdeye have more features than NiceJob?

Yes, by a wide margin, and that is the honest reason to choose it. Birdeye's product menu covers reviews, listings, social publishing, webchat, surveys, ticketing, competitor tracking, appointments and payments, plus a set of AI agents it calls coworkers for marketing, front desk and customer experience work. NiceJob covers reviews, referrals, rebooking, NPS and a few marketing broadcasts, and nothing else.

More features is only an advantage if someone on your team opens them. If what drew you to Birdeye was having website chats and texts answered after hours, that one job can also be handled on its own by an AI agent that answers and books customer messages, next to a review tool, without signing a platform contract for the rest.

Can I switch from Birdeye to NiceJob without losing reviews?

Yes. Your Google reviews live on Google, not inside Birdeye, so they stay exactly where they are when you leave. What you lose is what was built inside the account: contact lists, request templates, survey responses, internal notes and any Birdeye review widget on your website. Export the contacts and templates first, set NiceJob up during its trial so requests keep going out, then swap the website widget before the Birdeye account closes.

Check your Birdeye agreement before anything else. The term and the renewal notice window are set in your contract, not on a public page, and missing the window can mean another full year.

What about a flat-priced option if neither fits?

Two situations fall between these products. The first is a business with three to ten locations that wants review requests and a website widget for each, without NiceJob's per account setup repeated or a Birdeye quote. The second is a business whose customers review it on G2 or Trustpilot as well as Google, which is common for software, agencies and B2B services and is not where either tool is focused.

That is the gap ReviewJet covers. It sends automated email and SMS review requests on a trigger with one follow-up, collects Google, G2, Trustpilot and direct reviews into one place, and shows them in a widget on your site with review schema. Starter is $49 a month with up to 1,000 requests, Plus is $149 with five workspaces, five seats and white labeling, and Pro is $499 with unlimited workspaces. No location bands, no contract, and no sales call. It does not do referrals, rebooking or webchat, so if those matter, NiceJob or Birdeye remains the right buy. If you are still weighing Birdeye itself, our Birdeye alternatives comparison lists the platforms that publish a rate, and the NiceJob alternatives guide does the same for NiceJob, including the review tools already inside Jobber and Housecall Pro.

NiceJob or Birdeye, the decision in one paragraph

Count your locations and list the modules your team would open every week. One location and the job is reviews plus referrals: NiceJob, starting with its trial this week. Ten or more locations and you need listings, messaging and reporting in one contract: get a Birdeye quote for your exact band, in writing, with the renewal terms. Anywhere in between, or reviews on G2 and Trustpilot as well as Google: see ReviewJet's plans and build your widget above before you decide.

NiceJob suits a single-location home service business that wants automated review requests, referrals and rebooking at a published price. Birdeye suits a regional operator with ten or more branches that needs listings, webchat and per location reporting in one contract.

Yes. Birdeye covers reviews, listings, social, webchat, surveys, ticketing, appointments, payments and AI agents. NiceJob covers reviews, referrals, rebooking, NPS and marketing broadcasts. Extra features only pay off if your team opens them every week.

No. NiceJob states there is no contract and you can cancel anytime, with a 14 day trial and plan changes taking effect on the next billing cycle. Birdeye does not publish contract terms and describes its offer as one platform and one contract, so ask for the term in writing.

Yes. Your Google reviews stay on Google when you leave Birdeye. You lose what was built inside the account, such as contact lists, templates, survey responses and any Birdeye widget on your site, so export those and replace the widget before the account closes.
