REVIEWS.io alternatives compared on price for Shopify stores and service businesses

ReviewJet Team 7 min read

The right REVIEWS.io alternative depends on which half of REVIEWS.io you actually use. If you sell on Shopify and want star ratings on every product page, Judge.me, Yotpo and Okendo do that for less. If you run a service business, an agency or a SaaS company and mostly want Google reviews collected and shown on your site, a business review tool such as ReviewJet does it at $49 a month, or $288 a year, with 1,000 requests a month instead of 300.

The short answer

For Shopify product reviews, Judge.me Awesome at $15 a month is the cheapest full alternative, and Okendo or Yotpo fit stores that want more. For Google reviews on a service or B2B website, ReviewJet is $49 a month flat with SMS and email requests and a widget. Trustpilot starts at $99 a month on a 12 month prepaid contract. Every price below was read on the vendor's own pricing page or Shopify listing.

How much does REVIEWS.io cost?

REVIEWS.io lists Essentials at $29 a month for up to 300 review invites, Start-Up at $99 for 1,500, Grow at $299 for 5,000 and Plus at $499 for 10,000, which is sold through a demo. Annual billing saves 20%. Pricing is per domain, so a second website is a second subscription.

The jump that sends most people shopping is the one from Essentials to Start-Up. Google Seller Ratings, rich snippets, review importing, collection from third-party sites and the Klaviyo integration all start on Start-Up, so a store that wanted those features pays $99, not $29. API access is on Plus only. The plan-by-plan arithmetic, including annual totals, is in our REVIEWS.io pricing breakdown.

What are the best REVIEWS.io alternatives?

Six tools cover the realistic choices. Three are Shopify product review apps, two are business review platforms and one is a large suite that does not publish a price.

REVIEWS.io alternatives compared on published price, review type and best fit, read on each vendor's pricing page
Tool Published price Review type Best fit
REVIEWS.io (for reference) $29 to $499/mo per domain, by invite volume Company and product Stores that want both in one tool
ReviewJet $49/mo or $288/yr; Plus $149, Pro $499 Business reviews on Google, G2, Trustpilot and your own form Service, agency and SaaS sites
Trustpilot From $99/mo Starter, $319 Plus, $799 Premium Company reviews on Trustpilot Brands whose buyers check Trustpilot
Judge.me Forever Free, Awesome $15/mo Product reviews Shopify stores on a tight budget
Yotpo Free to 50 orders, Starter $15/mo, Pro $119/mo Product reviews Stores that want Google Seller Ratings on Pro
Okendo Free to 50 orders, Essential $19, Growth $119, Power $299 Product reviews Growing Shopify brands, priced by order volume
Birdeye Not published Business reviews plus messaging Multi-location companies buying a suite

Trustpilot prices are per month, per domain, billed annually on a 12 month prepaid contract, and Starter is limited to new customers with up to $5M in revenue. Yotpo and Okendo prices come from their Shopify App Store listings and scale with monthly orders.

Which REVIEWS.io alternative is cheaper?

Judge.me is the cheapest for product reviews. Awesome costs $15 a month, $180 a year, at a flat price that does not rise with order volume, against $348 a year for REVIEWS.io Essentials or $1,188 for Start-Up at monthly rates. Yotpo Starter is also $15, or $144 a year, but the features most stores are after, including Google Seller Ratings, sit on Pro at $119.

For business reviews the comparison is volume. REVIEWS.io Essentials gives 300 invites for $29 a month. ReviewJet Starter gives 1,000 email and SMS requests for $49 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly, which puts its annual price of $288 about level with Essentials billed annually and well below Start-Up at roughly $950. Trustpilot Starter at $99 a month comes to $1,188 a year, paid up front.

Best REVIEWS.io alternative for Shopify product reviews

If your reviews belong to products, stay with a product review app. Judge.me covers the basics on its Forever Free plan, and Awesome at $15 a month adds the rest of the app for a flat price. Yotpo Pro adds Google Seller Ratings, custom questions and AI review summaries. Okendo prices by order volume, and its Growth plan at $119 a month covers up to 1,500 orders, which suits a brand that is growing fast and wants a predictable bill. Our Shopify review app pricing comparison adds Loox and goes deeper on the per-order tiers.

Product reviews and business reviews are different jobs. A shopper reading stars under a pair of boots is not checking your Google Business Profile, and a buyer comparing agencies never sees a product page. Our Google reviews for Shopify page covers the case where a store wants both: product reviews from its review app and store-level Google reviews on the home page.

Best REVIEWS.io alternative for service businesses and SaaS

A lot of REVIEWS.io customers are not stores at all. They are clinics, contractors, agencies and software companies that bought it for company reviews. For them, the reviews that matter are on Google, and for B2B software on G2 and Trustpilot, because that is where buyers look before they call.

ReviewJet is built for that case. It sends review requests by email, or by text through your own Twilio number, follows up once, and links straight to your Google review form. It then shows Google, G2 and Trustpilot reviews together in one Google reviews widget with review schema, and updates it on its own. Starter is $49 a month for one workspace, and Plus at $149 adds five seats, five workspaces and white label for agencies.

If your buyers look for you on Trustpilot specifically, Trustpilot itself is the honest answer, though it costs more and locks you in for a year. Our Trustpilot alternatives page compares that route in detail.

One note if SMS was part of the appeal. REVIEWS.io includes 100 SMS invites a month from Start-Up. A review request to a customer who just bought from you is a service message, but promotional texts are a different thing under US consent rules, and a store that wants to run offers by text should use a compliant SMS marketing platform rather than its review tool.

What do you give up when you leave REVIEWS.io?

Be clear about this before you switch. ReviewJet does not collect product reviews per SKU, does not feed Google Seller Ratings and does not syndicate reviews to retailers, all of which REVIEWS.io offers on its higher plans. Judge.me and Okendo do not collect Google Business Profile reviews. No single tool on this list replaces every REVIEWS.io feature at a lower price, which is why the split by review type matters more than the feature checklist.

The things that carry over cleanly are the ones most service businesses use: automated requests after a purchase or a finished job, a widget on the site and star schema for search results. If that is what you used, you lose nothing that affects sales.

How to switch from REVIEWS.io

  1. Check your renewal date. REVIEWS.io bills per domain, and annual plans renew on their own. Switch in the month before renewal.
  2. Keep a copy of your reviews. Download what the dashboard lets you export before you cancel. Reviews on Google, G2 and Trustpilot stay where they are, because they never lived in REVIEWS.io.
  3. Set up the new requests first. Run both tools for a week so no customer goes unasked, then turn REVIEWS.io invites off.
  4. Swap the widget and schema together. Replace the REVIEWS.io embed with the new snippet in one change, so search engines never see two sets of rating markup on the same page.

If you are pricing the whole category rather than one vendor, our review widget pricing comparison lines up the main display tools, and ReviewJet pricing shows every plan with monthly and yearly prices.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on the reviews you collect. For Shopify product reviews, Judge.me at $15 a month is the cheapest full alternative, with Yotpo and Okendo for stores that want more. For Google reviews on a service, agency or SaaS website, ReviewJet at $49 a month flat collects and displays them, and Trustpilot fits brands whose buyers check Trustpilot.

Yes. Judge.me Awesome costs $15 a month and Yotpo Starter $15 a month, against $29 for REVIEWS.io Essentials and $99 for Start-Up. For business reviews, ReviewJet Starter is $288 a year billed yearly with 1,000 requests a month, about the same as Essentials billed annually, which allows 300 invites a month.

REVIEWS.io costs $29 a month on Essentials for 300 invites, $99 on Start-Up for 1,500, $299 on Grow for 5,000 and $499 on Plus for 10,000. Prices are per domain, annual billing saves 20%, and there is a 14 day trial. Google Seller Ratings and review importing start on Start-Up, and API access is on Plus only.

Trustpilot is better when your buyers already look you up on Trustpilot, because the reviews live on its public site. It costs more, from $99 a month on Starter to $799 on Premium, per domain, on a 12 month prepaid contract. REVIEWS.io is cheaper to start, at $29 a month, and adds product reviews for online stores in the same tool.

You can keep a copy of reviews collected inside REVIEWS.io by exporting what the dashboard allows before you cancel. Reviews posted on Google, G2 or Trustpilot never lived in REVIEWS.io, so they stay where they are and any new tool that reads those sources shows them straight away.
